Champion genetics, fineness and potential, with lingering fineness & crimp!

Jacob an excellent appaloosa herdsire. His personality is easy going and inquisitive, and he gets along great with other males. He has a fine, crimpy, and shiny fiber -- which fits well with our breeding program. His abundant spots are distinct, nicely sized, spread consistently across his blanket. This is why he remains an appaloosa has he ages rather than becoming a solid or harlequin grey as most leopard coat...

This male, Remember the Brave, has a lineage that makes you believe there is a reason for the combinations of colors and lineages that all lead to the future of the alpaca industry. His colorful lineage is filled with champion quality which comes together in a solid male like himself. He is the solid fawn son of our champion appaloosa herdsire Jacob, who is himself sired by the full Peruvian Alexander the Great, the son of 4Peruvian Pachacuti. This solid Peruvian heritage imbues his heritage with the years breeding knowledge from Peru. Brave's dam, Tiramisu, is white but with a lineage is packed full of color, coupled with the consistency of the venerable Caligula and Hemingway studs. Tira imparts her considerable density and fiber length to her cria.

Brave is the male that catches your eye in the paddock with his strong-framed stylish looks. His head is nicely wedge shaped, with a small muzzle, spear shaped ears, and large clear eyes. He walks in an alert, confident manner, upright on a balanced and square frame. His fiber is bright, long stapled, soft, and crimpy with good density and head/leg coverage. He was initially slowed in his growing as young yearling due to weaning and hay availability, but then 'took off' as a yearling and has no size issues. This however held him out of the show ring and he did not get a chance to gather ribbons.

We haven't done micron counts in a while, but I can tell you that this boy is fine and silky. His paternal half brother at another farm was just evaluated to be 14.1 microns (6/1/2013: AFD 14.1; SD 2.9; CV 20.8; %>30 0.4)! Brave definitely has the genetics for lasting fineness from his sire.

This male is priced ridiculously low as a bottom dollar priced fiber boy but just because we have to make room on our farm. Pay a nickel and get a breeding herdsire! Give us a call to get a gem in the rough, a win-win for you, us and Brave!

Brave showed a few times before he had a growth spurt that took in from an adolescent frame to the macho, strong frame that developed as he has matured. His brief showing was not productive so he was allowed to grow, and now can work for you on our farm to make ribbon winning crias.
