ARI# 845360 | DOB: 10/15/2003
Millie is a hands off easy (no issues, ever) care, excellent dam, and producer of color! This is not surprising, since her lineage has a solid base of Bolivian and Chilean color. She is really protective of her crias, but that is easy to work around with judicious bracketing of animals in different pens, so we don't have any headaches with that. Description

MUST HAVE SALE: $100 cash by himself, $50 if bought with another, $25! if in a package of 3 fiber males! Yes that means, you can take home 3 excellent fiber males for $75!

Hero's upright and proud stance shows his solid bone structure, straight frame, and boxy confirmation. This boy is balanced, well framed, and solid in his bone and muscle mass for easy movement and great health. His has fine fiber with a long staple and consistent high frequency crimp, a healthy glow, and soft silkiness. He looks to have the genetic tools for lingering fineness.

His sire is the multiple champion Kanaka, and his sire is Avatar -- an iconic grey sire of many champions across the country. At 8 years old, Kanaka's fiber stats were 20.8/4.7/22.7/3.3%! Hero's dam is Millie, a TB dam with notable grey genetics herself. Hero has stacked genetics! On our farm: Hero's paternal half-sister is a MRG multiple champion that produces rose grey, and his maternal half-sister is a MSG ribbon winner that produces silver grey. So, it is clear that Hero is a hidden grey stud loaded in pedigree and potential.

A desirable male at a fantastic price as we need to realign to bring our herd size down. We have several related alpacas on our farm, and so are looking to help Hero move to a new farm, even at drastically low 'fiber boy' prices!

Awards

5th - 2012 ABR Fall Festival - His fiber qualities were well appreciated.
About his sire, Kanaka:
Some quoted information about Kanaka from Fossil Ridge Alpacas past listing: "Kanaka Wins Male Fawn Reserve Color Championship at GWAS halter and GWAS Fleece Show! Judge Jude Anderson commented that Kanaka is the "Complete Package, he is uniform, dense, and fine". Kanaka won his fourth color championship at 2007 TXOLAN Spectacular. Kanaka bested 33 other entrants in the Male Medium Fawn classes to win the championship. Judge Friedman stated "This boy has it all, character, density, staple length, consistency, and fineness. I noticed him as soon as he walked in the ring; he has a true Macho presence". Kanaka was awarded the 2006 Mid-America Alpaca Show Male Fawn Color Championship under Judge Amy Bliss-Miller. Judge Bliss-Miller commented that it was his fineness and uniformity that placed him ahead of all other competitors. Kanaka was awarded the 2006 MOPACA Dark/Medium Fawn Color Championship. Senior judge Jude Anderson stated; “There really was no question, I noticed this guy as soon as he walked in the ring. He has a sturdy frame and good size. When I opened his fleece, it is uniform from his neck right the way to his tail. This young male has all the qualities I am looking for including uniformity, density, and fineness". "
